What is Silver Scenes?

Tap the talent in the halls of your community! Give your residents a moment of stardom while engaging them cognitively, socially, intellectually, emotionally, vocationally, and physically. That’s a whopping 6 dimensions of Wellness in Life Enrichment!

The National Institute on Aging states that acting is beneficial to active agers on many levels, including the aforementioned dimensions, as well as personal satisfaction – and it doesn’t require any previous training. Which makes sense because for our population of seniors—life has been their education!

Silver Scenes™ is a monthly subscription that allows you to gather a group of your residents to plan and rehearse a 10–15-minute professionally drafted stage play for family and fellow residents or, if your community is technically equipped, shoot a movie to be shared widely. Every month, you’ll receive a new one-act script designed to make your audience howl with laughter, become immersed in thought-provoking drama, and fall in love with characters they’ll want to call friends.

Each week will be a new adventure with your script:

Week 1: Introduction and assignment of characters and script read-through.

Week 2: Blocking and rehearsal.

Week 3: Final dress rehearsal.

Week 4: Performance followed by a fun-filled Wrap Party.

Five weeks in any given month? No need to skip a week; we’ll provide fun theater activities that can fill that extra hour in no time, keeping your thespians engaged, excited, and ready to tackle that next script.
